Why ESL?

It is always good to learn a second language. Choosing English as second language is a very good choice if it is not your first language. In-fact being a bilingual has its inherent qualities like you can communicate in different parts of the world where these languages are spoken. You can even get good business from them, if you are aware of their local language. There is small story that goes like:-

A family of mice were surprised by a big black cat. The father Mouse jumped and and said, "Bow-wow!" and the cat ran away. "What was that, Father?" asked Baby Mouse. "Well, son, that's why it's important to learn a second language."

So we see that learning a new language can save your day. Choosing English as a second language has the best advantage as it is spoken in maximum parts of the globe. If your spoken English is good or even if you know English, then you get business from there, can travel to those countries, etc.

Some of the advantages of English as second language ESL are:-

Improves your personality as you become a bilingual

As you learn English apart from your mother tongue, you become a bilingual. That is you can speak more than one language. It creates a very good impression, and improves your personality and self confidence overall. There is never a drawback of learning something new. Learning to speak English is one of the best investment that could be done.

Can travel to places where English is spoken

As there are many countries in the world where English is spoken. So you can travel to these countries and speak in English and easily survive there, as you are comfortable with English. I know what pain it is when you don't know the local language. Once I have been to Paris, and I don't know French. Belive me it is very hard to survive in such conditions. But Gods grace is that I know English, so I was able to communicate in English with the locals. You see that, English has saved my day.

Get good Business form the English speaking countries

There are scenarios when you are trying to do business whose mother tounge is English, or it might be that their mother tongue is something else, but they know English. In such cases you have two options:-

1. To learn their local language to get business and communicate.
2. To learn English and get business and communicate.

I prefer the second solution, as for the first solution will limit you to that country, but English is global and is spoken around the globe. So learning English will help you get business around the globe.

There is third option also that you hire a translator, but that is a costly affair.

Improvement of chances for getting a job

The most important point of picking ESL is that the chances of your getting a job are increased many folds. Every company wants its employees to be able to communicate with the other country guys. The companies send their employees to other countries for knowledge transfer and other activities like on-site support. In such scenarios, the first preference is for the employees who are good in English and can sustain there.
